Join the Cardiology Advocacy Alliance to discuss the proposed Physician Fee Schedule for 2010, which has numerous issues of grave concern to Cardiology:
  • Overall cuts to Cardiology of 11+percent
  • Equipment Utilization assumption rate increase from 50 percent to 90 percent on equipment over $1 million (MR, CT and PET), which would negatively affect imaging reimbursement
  • Drastic changes to practice expense due to AMA survey data
  • Year Five of the implementation of practice expense changes
  • Changes to the formula as it relates to the malpractice components of the reimbursement formula
  • Proposed non-payment of Medicare consult codes, to be replaced by existing visit codes
  • A 21.5-percent cut to the PFS via the Sustainable Growth Rate formula (on top of other proposed cuts)
  • Nuclear bundling and other hits also are on the horizon.
  • In addition, proposed Congressional reforms would  negatively impact Cardiology reimbursement  as well.
