Co-Management: Rowing the Same Boat in the Same Direction

Thursday, September 24, 2015
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Eastern

Speakers: Joel Sauer, VP, MedAxiom Consulting

Whether a private cardiology practice or the leader of an integrated CV program, our focus in medicine is changing from the component parts to the entire care spectrum. Although this will ultimately lead to better care at a lower cost, it’s a very difficult transition. Often standing in the way is the current mal-alignment of economics between physician compensation and organizational objectives, particularly within the hospital.

Co-management provides a platform to not only sync up the economics, but to engage physicians in the leadership and management of the CV product and CV patient population – both of which will be critical in the future. The proper construction of these arrangements is critical to improve effectiveness and success, from the organization of the leadership to legal considerations and compensation structures.

• Participants will learn the industry changes pushing physicians and hospitals closer together, regardless of employment status.
• Definition of co-management and the various forms it can take.
• Review of the necessary components and potential structures.
• Roadmap to putting a co-management program in place.
• Legal considerations to keep in mind along the co-management journey.
