Understanding Billing and Documentation Guidelines for Non Physician Practitioners and Teaching Physicians

Thursday, February 11, 2016
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Eastern

Using non-physician providers (NPPs) is an effective way to balance provider workload and improve patient access. However NPPs can put you at risk for noncompliance, every health plan has its own rules regarding NPP billing, and each state has its own laws for NPP licensing and scope of practice. Is your organization clear on the requirements for coding, billing, and documenting these services? Are you being reimbursed for services rendered by Non-Physician Practitioners? When may you bill for NPP rendered services? Do you understand the difference between NPP and Teaching Physician Guidelines?

Some topics that will be reviewed:
• Review of NPP and Teaching Physicians Guidelines
• NPP billing options
• Understanding payer guidelines and regulations
• Clinical Examples

Provider Workforce Planning: Anticipating, Not Reacting

Thursday, March 31, 2016
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Eastern

Do you have a formal plan for determining provider workforce needs, one that anticipates the future? Is that plan based on data or gestalt? The health care system is being asked to take care of populations, not just individuals once they become sick. Further, the US physician population is aging and current medical school graduates won't keep pace with anticipated demand. Physicians winding down their careers can put tremendous strain on medical groups as they deal with reduced clinical schedules and/or call participation, along with the corresponding economics that follow. Anticipating these types of changes and having a formal plan in place to deal with it is critical for groups to avoid workforce crises. Even beyond normal attrition, medical groups must have a formal workforce plan in place that contemplates needs not only for physicians, but advanced practice professionals and other care team members as well. Participants will see data on physician populations trends along with predictions of demand. Via a case study, tools and data will be shown that allow for both objective and subjective workforce assessments, along with the variables that should be considered when crafting a plan.

At this webinar you will:

- Discover major trends that are affecting both provider supply and health care demand
- Learn the tools, data and variables groups need to consider when planning provider workforce
- Hear the details of a successful workforce planning case study
