About CT Webcast

“Thanks very much to you and your team for coordinating the CT webcast today.  It was extremely professional, salient and just what a whole bunch of us needed. I look forward to being able to download the recorded presentation and will circulate it to my shareholders. You guys continue to impress me and consider it a privilege to be a part of the MedAxiom fold.”

Greg Waters, Desert Cardiology of Tucson

"Thank you for the outstanding presentation! I truly appreciate everything that you all have done to advance the field of CVCT and, most importantly, your willingness to share with the rest of us.  The timing of your webcast was perfect for TCI as we should receive approval on our CON and begin construction by March 1.  We hope to be operational by May 1. The information you provided in the webcast, in previous presentations and directly to me have saved me countless hours.  Thanks again."

David R. Kruger, Chief Executive Officer, Thoracic and Cardiovascular Institute, P.C.

About the Conferences

“Thank you to all that attended, organized and created presentations for the Orlando meeting.  I really found it to be a very valuable two days and look forward to meeting the rest of you who weren't able to make this trip at the next event!”

Suzette Jaskie, Executive Director, Wisconsin Heart and Vascular Clinic

“I was tempted to stay home (tied to my desk) but, after the meeting, I was thankful I attended.  It’s nice to get away from the office to communicate with other admins in the same specialty to discuss issues, share ideas, and recharge the batteries.  Thanks to all of you.”

Jeffrey T. Gorke, Chief Executive Officer, Hickory Cardiology/Western Piedmont Heart Centers

About the Group Purchasing Organization (GPO)

“Thank you all for your hard work on securing the Philips contract for MedAxiom.  We were negotiating with Philips for quite a while.  We were looking to upgrade 6 echo machines so we can make them digital.  We started out with a quote of $144,000.  Our hospital has a deal with Philips that stated we (IHP) could also utilize their discount.  The problem was there were strings attached.  We had to agree to buy 75% of our purchases from Philips. We were told by our Philips representative that we could not find a better deal than what they gave the hospital. Our revised quote utilizing the hospital's contract with all the strings attached was $116,300. With your help and the rep working with MedAxiom, we were able to get the upgrades for $109,400, NO STRINGS ATTACHED.  We saved $35,000 off of the original quote!!

Thanks again for your work and dedication to MedAxiom!!  Obviously, our membership has more than paid for itself.  What a great organization!!!

We look forward to seeing you in Florida at the end of October.”

Bea Zakrowski, Indiana Heart Physicians

“MedAxiom has provided us substantial savings in the purchase of nuclear cameras as well as echocardiograph machines. We have seen savings of approximately 10% over our best negotiated prices.”

Hank Yurow, CEO, Midatlantic Cardiovascular Associates, P.A.

“We have purchased two (Acusion Cypress Portable Echo) and are very happy with them. We negotiated a price but then asked for the MedAxiom discount and the price improved. In asking my doctors about the quality, they said that they did not compare them to the top of the line equipment we had in our full time, busy offices, we wouldn't buy them for that but that they are much better than some of the older equipment we were using at our mobile sites. Like all of CLA, my doctors are very picky about their equipment and are very pleased with these so far. This is preliminary, however, since we just started using them…”

Mary Rose Patejak, Los Angeles Cardiology

“I had responded to this question earlier, but wanted to add my comments to Mary Rose's regarding our experience with negotiating the price and then receiving the MedAxiom discount. We felt the pricing was good.

As you all know we primarily place Siemens equipment and IT in our Heart Hospital.  When we were negotiating with Siemens locally they were amazed the great discounts we could get through MedAxiom.  Again, we negotiated price first and then brought forward MedAxiom.”

Sheryl D. Dodds, RN, MS, Chief Executive Officer, Nebraska Heart Institute, P.C.

About the Annual Comprehensive Survey

“The Annual Survey has been a godsend for us. This is the first time that we have credible peer data, which has helped us in everything from realistic staffing in our business office, to increasing our physician time off.  Access to the MEDAxiom benchmarking data has made us a better practice.”

M. Patejak, Executive Director, Los Angeles Cardiology Associates

“I’ve really used last year’s survey to help with our physician planning efforts, strategic planning, and staffing benchmarks.  Being new to the group, the information has already been very helpful.  I look forward to seeing the 2000 data to see where changes have been made.”

A. Honeycutt, Virginia Cardiovascular Specialists

“The Annual Survey has become the benchmark by which our Cardiology Division examines itself and sets its targets for the future.  MedAxiom survey data is current, definitive, and conclusive and thereby allows us to make clear strategic and operational decisions regarding the future direction of the Practice.”

J. A. Lutz, FACHE, FACMPE, Albany Associates in Cardiology (A Division of Prime Care Physicians, P.C.)

“We’ve been able to use the Annual Survey to benchmark a host of statistical and financial items and quickly identify where we match up well or poorly with our peers.  The evidence of over 20 similar practices is impossible to dismiss, and moves our analysis from anecdotal to empirical.  With any item we compare, there is usually a number of practices that fall within a “normal” range with “outliers”, both high and low. When our practice is an outlier, I know I have a problem and I have a reasonable target for improvement."

E. Hartzler, Executive Director, Cardiovascular Consultants, P.C.

“For the past five years, information derived from the Annual Survey has been presented during our Planning Retreat.  The value of benchmarking data that is reliable, current, and specific to cardiology has been tremendous in our planning efforts.  We make informed decisions, looking at opportunities we gleaned from the analysis of the benchmarking data."

J. Shelton, Executive Director, HeartCare Midwest

About Benchmarking Salary Survey

“The MedAxiom Benchmarking Salary data is an invaluable tool in providing competitive wage rates for cardiology practices. The specialty specific data allows the practice executive to adequately assess the competitive nature of the salary scales and allows for accurate human resources budgeting.”

H. Yurow, Executive Director, Midatlantic Cardiovascular Associates, PA, Baltimore, MD

About the Nuclear Survey

“Nuclear services are expensive and complex, with significant expenses for equipment, drugs, and labor.  The number of items detailed in the survey has allowed me to hone in on the areas where we are weak and set targets for future performance that are realistic.”

E. Hartzler, Cardiovascular Consultants, PC
