A recently released health policy statement by the American College of Cardiology (ACC), in conjunction with the American Society of Echocardiography, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Society, and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, documents the College’s official position on the need for a standards-based approach to achieve interoperability of health information and to engage clinicians, manufacturers, and regulators in the process.
This panel discussion, including one of the policy statement authors, will explore the importance of and suggested path to interoperability: “Meaningful interoperability of data is crucial for optimal patient care as well as the many associated activities necessary to support a robust and transparent healthcare delivery system. IHE serves a unique role and fills a critical gap in pursuit of this goal.”
