While much progress has been made and the ASC is viewed as a legitimate site for cardiovascular care, the pathways to opening ASCs, including building, partnering, federating and migrating, are still in early stages across the country. This session will provide a forum for cardiovascular business leaders in the trenches of ASCs to share their experiences via a moderated discussion with ample time for Q&A from the audience.

Speakers:

Jim Daniel, JD, MBA, CSMC, CHFP, Partner, Hancock, Daniel & Johnson P.C.

5:15 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.

While there have been huge advances in medicine, the peer review process is outdated and there’s no standardization or best practice. Competition, bureaucracy and other dynamics make genuine, safe and objective feedback for improvement nearly impossible. Administrative complexity, fraud and abuse lead to failure of care delivery and coordination, causing hospital systems to lose money and face legal issues.

This session will present innovative solutions to help you overcome these challenges and effectively and efficiently conduct unbiased reviews. Solutions will employ the wisdom of crowds and anonymization to remove bias and incorporate societal guidelines and standards.

Speaker: Joel Sauer, MBA, Executive Vice President, Consulting, MedAxiom
