As a former service line executive Terri McDonald brings extensive knowledge and experience in leading, managing and optimizing every level of the cardiovascular service line (CVSL). Terri has a clinical background in nursing, with 10 years spent practicing in cardiac and critical care settings. She has been a CVSL leader for more than 15 years and served in hospital senior leadership roles in quality/performance improvement, accreditation services, utilization/case management, medical staff services, compliance, nursing and multiple clinical service lines. She also has executive management experience in numerous clinical and administrative functions in the acute care setting, including patient engagement, health information management, clinical laboratory services and clinical imaging services.
Prior to joining MedAxiom, Terri spent eight years as the heart and vascular service line administrator at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH), a 772-bed hospital in the Florida panhandle. During her time at TMH the cardiovascular program was transformed into a true CVSL model, with dyad-led leadership in every subspecialty, including CT surgery and vascular surgery. With this model the TMH cardiovascular program opened numerous first-in-region services including a structural heart program, an AFib clinic, a heart failure clinic, a clinical decision unit, an RN Navigator program, a cardiopulmonary rehabilitation center and hybrid interventional suites to support advanced procedural care in interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, endovascular services, structural heart and neurointerventional services. The program developed a network of referring hospitals to expand its regional footprint as a fully integrated, tertiary-level cardiovascular program serving the North Florida/South Georgia/South Alabama region, while maintaining excellent financial and clinical performance.
