We are very pleased to announce that Jacob Turmell, DNP, RN, NP-C, ACNS-BC, CCRN-CMC, has joined MedAxiom Consulting as Vice President.
Jacob is a certified Nurse Practitioner with a strong clinical background combined with years of medical industry experience. This has led him into leadership roles that have helped transform the delivery of health care. While earning his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, Jacob’s focus on systems leadership gave him expertise in organizational assessment, outcome-driven change management, population health, and public policy. His understanding of the clinical, administrative and operational sides of health care make him uniquely qualified to help organizations optimize all these aspects of their business.
Health care is a dynamic industry that is undergoing dramatic and fast-paced change. We are here to accelerate the sharing of best practices and utilize data to drive decisions; I love that I can be at the center of this and have an impact on patients, providers, practices, and organizations.
Jacob has been an Advanced Practice Provider for over 11 years, focusing on the care of the cardiac patient in both the acute care and outpatient care settings. While at Spectrum Health, Jacob participated in process improvement work that includes alarm management, telemetry utilization, readmissions, heart failure length of stay, multidisciplinary rounds, and cath lab efficiencies.
At MedAxiom Consulting, Jacob will be focused on care processes redesign and provider team optimization. Also, with Jacob’s strong medical industry knowledge, he will work with clients on solution-based selling strategies.

Jacob obtained his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Louisiana College in 1999. He graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Master of Science in Nursing degree in 2006. He completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice at Rush University in 2015. He holds professional certifications as both a nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist. He is also certified as a critical care registered nurse with a subspecialty in cardiac medicine. Jacob serves as adjunct faculty with Grand Valley State University for the doctoral primary care nurse practitioner program.
