ACC Advocacy Update from ACC.org
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on Jan. 15 announced that it is amending the reporting timeline for the Provider Relief Fund Program (PRF) in response to the recent passage of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act. Recipients of previously disbursed provider relief funds are now able to submit required reporting on use of these funds later than the original deadline, which was Feb. 15. The new deadline is not yet established.
In the meantime, the agency encourages those who received provider relief funds exceeding an aggregate total of $10,000 to begin registering for gateway access to the new reporting portal, where they can submit their information in compliance with the new reporting requirements as the final submission deadline is debated. HHS intends to give recipients "ample time to familiarize themselves with the updated reporting requirements well in advance of required submission deadlines."
This decision comes after ongoing efforts by MedAxiom and the ACC to increase provider relief funding, strengthen the U.S. medical system and protect access to patient care during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Read the full HHS announcement here for more information and qualifications.
