When is a conversation more than just passing information or whiling away a few minutes?
When either or both conversation partners take more away from the conversation than they brought to it—and especially when something new is born from the exchange. This “new” thing is a connection point that works to push new ideas forward into practice. But how to get to “something new”? It’s hard enough just to find time to talk with teammates, let alone locating that unbridled time when conversation can flow freely. Such time is rarely built into one’s schedule.
