COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed to provide the foundations for new cardiovascular cardiovascular nursing staff working in general cardiology ambulatory practices, nurses new to cardiovascular ambulatory nursing, or general nursing staff who wish to revisit their fundamental knowledge of cardiovascular care in the outpatient setting. MedAxiom's registered nurse (RN) expert Jenny Kennedy, MSN, RN, CHFN, NEA-BC, vice president of Care Transformation Services, leads the course and with appearances from MedAxiom’s imaging expert Jaime Warren, Ed.D., MBA, BHS, CNMT, NCT, vice president of Care Transformation Services, as a guest instructor. The course incorporates video, textbook and online learning to cover these essential cardiovascular RN topics:

  • Module 1: Introduction to Cardiovascular Medicine
  • Module 2: Heart Failure
  • Module 3: Atrial Fibrillation (AF) and Valvular Heart Disease (VHD)

For Clinical Staff: This curriculum is designed to immerse nursing staff or RNs new to ambulatory cardiovascular practice in the fundamentals of clinical cardiology care in an outpatient setting – to understand what they are experiencing in the clinics and provide a didactic review of the pathophysiology, symptoms, diagnosis and clinical decision-making.
