This nine-module course is designed to assist coders, billers and applicable revenue cycle staff new to coding professional cardiovascular services (CV) with the basics of coding principles. The enrollee will learn principles of medical coding related to the three main code books: CPT®, ICD-10- CM Code Set and HCPCS Level II. This course, led by MedAxiom's expert Revenue Cycle Solutions Team, is recommended for anyone who is new to coding CV professional services or needs a refresh of CV coding essentials. The course incorporates the rules and regulations promulgated by government agencies including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (local and national), as well as any non-government bodies acting as contractors or representatives of the government including Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System, Diagnosis (ICD-10) coding rules, guidelines and conventions as applicable.

Jammie has 15 years of diverse experience in medical coding, medical auditing, business administration, relationship management and customer service. She is committed to continuously seeking educational opportunities and achieving relevant certifications and proficiencies in all aspects of medical billing, coding and compliance.
Joline Bruder, CPC, CPMA, CCVTC, CGSC
Joline has worked in healthcare administration for over 15 years. Her healthcare experience includes cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, supervising, and consulting for coding and compliance.
Each lesson has a 60-minute didactic presentation followed by a mandatory quiz. To be completed at student’s own pace within a 12-month period or less. Enrollment date begins at date of purchase.
This is a pass/fail course based on the completion of the material. This course can be done at the student’s own pace. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic each student will have a maximum of twelve months to complete the course material. Students must pass every quiz with a score of 70 percent or above, and the final course evaluation feedback survey in order to receive the CEU credits and certificate of completion.
This course has the prior approval of AAPC for continuing education hours in the medical billing and business support field.
The AAPC, or American Academy of Professional Coders, designates this program meets their guidelines for 13.5 CEUs. The AAPC provides training and issues certification to medical insurance coders, medical practice managers and medical auditors.
