Revenue Cycle Solutions Specialty Coder

As a Revenue Cycle Solutions Specialty Coder at MedAxiom with an educational background in nursing, Mark applies over seven years of experience in coding various specialty areas to support MedAxiom members with their coding needs.

During his two years as an emergency department (ED) coder for Dignity Health, Mark was responsible for managing a workload of 100 to 120 charts to ensure that coding was current for all providers. Mark followed system-wide coding practices to meet the organization’s compliance guidelines and ensured appropriate and effective reimbursement with revenue cycle, clinician, billing and other teams for funder payments. As a subject matter expert, he provided training and mentorship to other coders. Mark also worked for two years as an inpatient/outpatient coder for Southwest Contemporary and three years as a certified professional coder for Compugroup Medical. 

Mark earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2007 and obtained his Professional Coder Certification from the AAPC in 2016.
