As a Finance Associate at MedAxiom, Melissa provides support to employees, members and industry partners with issues related to accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Before joining the MedAxiom team, Melissa worked at a community mental health center as a licensed clinical social worker and therapist, focusing on children and families in the school system.
After nearly 10 years of direct clinical practice, she continued her career as a leader in the startup house-call primary care practice. While there, she gained experience in healthcare administration and excelled in operations, compliance, Medicare regulations, human resources, customer service and finance. Melissa also played an integral role in the startup of an in-house chronic care management team, growing the practice from three employees to 50 full-time medical providers and support staff serving the homebound and home-limited population of the greater Jacksonville area.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Master of Science degree in social work from the University of Louisville. She maintains an active license in clinical social work. She also completed a Harvard Business School online course in financial accounting.
