As the Communications Director at MedAxiom, Courtney oversees the editorial strategy and publications portfolio. She manages content development across MedAxiom’s communications channels, writing and copyediting a diverse array of content for a variety of audiences. Working closely with the Marketing team on content distribution strategy for both internal and client/partner initiatives, she is responsible for building and managing partnerships with cardiovascular trade publications, media, associations and other collaborators with the aim of propelling the company’s reputation and services in the industry. As a member of the MedAxiom Creative Services team, she delivers professional services that produce visually captivating and engaging content and communication strategies tailor-made for clients.
Before coming to MedAxiom, Courtney dedicated 12 years of her career to transforming cardiovascular care and improving heart health. At the American College of Cardiology, she served in several capacities, including managing medical journals, creating accredited/non-accredited medical education products and producing content for the ACC.org website. Most recently, she managed the strategic and daily operations of JACC: Case Reports and JACC: Cardiovascular Interventions with the goal of publishing high-quality manuscripts and innovative derivative content. Her experience in different departments of the College provided her with a holistic view of the cardiovascular industry and a deep understanding of the role of associations in the healthcare field.
Courtney graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language/Literature and Art History. She also completed post-baccalaureate courses in pre-health sciences at the University of Maryland and Montgomery College.
