Avoiding Admissions: MCOT for Patients With Syncope or Palpitations Published on: October 18, 2024
This session presents a case study of how one program improved care for patients presenting to the emergency department (ED) with syncope or palpitations. Using mobile cardiac outpatient telemetry (MCOT) and scheduling a follow-up appointment, this program avoided admissions. Speakers will describe the program set-up and the clinical pathway from identifying patients in the ED to the appointment in the cardiology clinic. The discussion will also highlight the application of this approach to larger target populations.
