Blood Volume Analysis as Part of a Multi-Tiered Approach to Minimize AKI After LVAD Implantation

This session reviews the results of a single-center, retrospective cohort study demonstrating how the Wellstar Health System Advanced Heart Failure (AHF) program implemented a multi-tiered approach to reduce the rate of acute kidney injury (AKI) after left ventricular assist device implantation (LVAD) and improve outcomes. With blood volume analysis (BVA) as a key component of the approach, this session demonstrates the strategic need behind the utilization of BVA in the AHF population. Viewers will understand how best to replicate this strategy in their own AHF programs.
